SHORE Solutions executive Darcy Lalonde was one of three prominent business leaders who spoke at the seminar, “The Cloud for Human Capital Acquisition and Management,” at the Shangri-La Hotel, Makati on Thursday, November 20. Cloud technology has enabled more companies of all sizes to execute innovative best practices in Human Capital Management (HCM) that includes talent recruitment, retention and compensation.

The speakers at the seminar were top executives from SHORE, ADP and Talkpush, all leading companies in their respective fields. SHORE is one of the fastest growing business process outsourcing (BPO) companies in the Philippines. It grew this month from 2000 to 7000 employees upon its 100% acquisition by Acquire BPO. ADP is a global leader in HR and payroll solutions, while Talkpush is a groundbreaking recruitment automation software company.

Lalonde spoke on how SAP SuccessFactors is driving innovation in his company. SAP SuccessFactors is the current global and market leader in cloud-based HCM for core HR processes and talent management. Not only is SHORE a corporate user of SAP SuccessFactors, it has been a value added reseller of this HCM Suite since early this year.

Lalonde said that, as with most organizations in the outsourcing industry, SHORE was faced with challenges in the employee lifecycle such as recruiting highly skilled, experienced employees to service clients from varied industries; employee engagement; performance management; and harnessing and marshalling employee information, among many other issues. By integrating the SAP SuccessFactors HCM suite with the power social collaboration tool, SAP Jam (customized and rebranded as SHORE Jam), SHORE was able to transform and align its HR strategies to produce a more efficient, productive and comprehensive HCM program, leading to successful business results.

The seminar’s other speakers were Charles Hamilton Ferguson, ADP’s DVP for Sales and Marketing, Asia Pacific, and founder and CEO of Talkpush, Max Armbruster. Hamilton Ferguson, considered a cloud computing expert, spoke on rethinking HCM by combining technology and superior services. On the other hand, Armbruster likened today’s search for talent to a war, and presented new tools and essential technologies and tactics required for positive talent access, attraction, assessment and eventual acquisition.

Attendees were gratified by the shared information and practical applications of cloud technology to human resources acquisition and management.
